Introducing Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN)—Indonesia’s bold step into the future. As the new capital, IKN is more than just a city; it embodies Indonesia’s ambitions for sustainability, innovation, and balanced development. Strategically located in East Kalimantan, this visionary metropolis is designed to be a beacon of modernity while honoring Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage.
Geotekindo is proud to be a key player in this transformative project since mid-2023, involved in borepile construction in several main buildings at the new capital city as well as contributing to the construction of the IKN VVIP Airport—a crucial gateway to the nation’s future. Our expertise in advanced ground improvement techniques has been instrumental in ensuring the success of this high-profile project.
To enhance the stability of the airport’s runway slope, we employed cutting-edge methods such as PVD and PHD installation and Deep Cement Mixing (DCM). With an unwavering commitment to meeting tight deadlines, Geotekindo mobilized a three-axis deep cement mixing machine and a two-axis deep cement mixing machine, executing over 15,000 DCM points to reinforce the runway’s stability.
On August 25, 2024, the airport achieved a significant milestone with a successful proving flight on the newly constructed runway, measuring 1,025 meters by 30 meters. This achievement underscores Geotekindo’s dedication to quality, precision, and innovation in building infrastructure that will support Indonesia’s ambitious future.
