Soekarno – Hatta International Airport is expanding to Runway 3 area, consists of Taxiway and Runway itself. Soft to medium clay exist which lead to consolidation settlement issue while loose sand also exist in most of the area which lead to liquefaction issue.
PVD with Soil Preloading being chosen to resolve the consolidation issue while Stone Column being chosen to resolve the liquefaction issue. Application of top-feeding dry-method stone column construction being proved as the best solution: high productivity with good compaction result, precise column diameter, increasing the sand properties surrounding the column while keep the site cleanliness.
